SUMMER 2022
Music By The Season is looking forward to spending the summer together outdoors!
This spring and summer season we will be singing and talking about things like snow melting, warmer weather, animals waking up, birds migrating, buds, plants growing, and gardening. Yay!
Registration can be done via the form at the bottom of the home page.
Music By The Season is an educational seasons-inspired group music program founded by songwriter, guitarist, and educator Alison Notkin and designed to get little ones and their caregivers singing songs, moving to rhythm and music, discovering instruments and thinking about music and nature together in a fun and relaxed environment.
Our classes incorporate singing, musical activities, instrument exploration, and movement. The songs we sing are based on seasonal and nature themes and are Alison's original compositions, children's folk songs from around the world, and songs from, or inspired by the Rudolf Steiner tradition. Props are used to support the songs and often represent sounds, systems, and movements in the music. Exploration of the xylophone, glockenspiel, ukulele, harp, djembe, large gathering drum, and multiple percussion instruments is done through song and activity. Movement exercises are incorporated throughout the class to provide a fun physical outlet.
Alison also teaches private music lessons. See below for a current offering of classes!

Lessons are tailored to each student and typically involve learning songs and music theory in a fun and practical way.
Possibility of doing some lessons outdoor in person.

Music By The Season is also available for classes online and outdoors for libraries, daycares, community centres, festivals, and birthdays and other private groups.
